DUE TO NATURAL WOOD VARIATIONS, OVER WHICH WE HAVE NO
CONTROL, WOOD FURNITURE IS SOLD SUBJECT TO VARIATIONS OR IRREGULARITIES OF COLOR,
SURFACE GRAIN, OR TEXTURE.
CONSTRUCTION FEATURES & MATERIALS: For
over 41 years we have hand crafted top quality pieces of furniture utilizing solid northern
hardwoods and the best woodworking techniques available today. We feel the construction
features illustrated below are what enable our furniture to last and provide your family
with years of enjoyment.
THE WOOD: Cherry is one of the most unique of all woods found
in nature. With its fine grain, soft hue and swirling grain, it begins its life
a light pinkish color. As it is exposed to sunlight, the wood becomes a deeper and
richer red. This process is rather dramatic the first two years and will continue
for the life of the piece. Our environmentally friendly, clear and natural finish
is applied to bring out the natural beauty of this fine hardwood.
There are many varieties of oaks available for designing
furniture. We only use northern red oak, which is grown in the colder climates of
North America. Oak grown in these areas has smaller grains, and is considerably
more stable and uniform. The hue of this hardwood is a soft reddish, wheat color
versus other oaks that cast a harsh grayish, yellow color. It is an extremely strong
and durable hardwood with a uniform color and striking grain pattern. Craftsmen
have utilized oak for centuries.
Our full veneers are especially selected from plain sliced
natural wood veneers. Veneers enable added durability and stain resistance for tables
while providing excellent writing surfaces for our home office line.
DRAWER CONSTRUCTION: All
our solid hardwood drawers are assembled with precision FINGER DOVETAIL JOINTS, which
are still the best construction today. The drawers run on side-mounted heavy-duty
ball bearing tracking with 75lb test load capacity.
INTERNAL CONSTRUCTION: We
utilize a strong FOUR-SIDED HARDWOOD FRAME screwed into the cabinet sides AT EVERY
DRAWER LEVEL. This type of frame assembly gives us maximum construction strength and
added durability.
